Main Components Of Asphalt Batching Plant
Cold material supply system
Usually includes cold material bin, vibrating feeder, belt conveyor and aggregate metering system, which is responsible for conveying cold aggregate of different specifications (usually 3-6) to the drying drum according to the preset ratio to prevent aggregate blockage and ensure uniform conveying.
Drying drum
Mainly composed of drum body, burner and lifting plate, responsible for turning the aggregate to make it evenly heated to a suitable temperature, and drying the aggregate to remove moisture and improve asphalt adhesion. The burner is equipped with automatic ignition and temperature control system to ensure stable heating temperature.
Hot aggregate lifting
Mainly composed of hopper, chain or belt and transmission device, used to convey the loaded heated aggregate to the screening system to obtain aggregate of different particle sizes. The transmission device provides power to ensure stable aggregate conveying.
Vibration screening system
Asphalt plant consists of a vibrating screen and a screen. The vibrating screen separates the aggregate by particle size through vibration and screens the heated aggregate by particle size. The vibrating screen adopts a multi-layer design and can screen aggregates of various particle sizes at the same time.
Weighing system
It is mainly composed of aggregate weighing hopper, asphalt weighing hopper and filler weighing hopper. It adopts high-precision sensors to accurately weigh aggregate, asphalt and filler. The weighing process is automatically completed by the control system to reduce human errors.
Mixing system
Asphalt drum mix plant is mainly composed of a twin-shaft mixer, lining plate, mixing blades and discharge port. It is responsible for mixing heated aggregate, mineral powder and asphalt in proportion to form a uniform asphalt mixture.
Dust removal system
It is mainly composed of bag dust collector, cyclone dust collector and induced draft fan. It is responsible for collecting and processing dust generated during the production process of asphalt station. The dust removal efficiency is relatively high, which can effectively reduce dust emissions and protect the environment.
Control system
Includes PLC controller, touch screen, sensor, actuator and fault alarm, etc., intelligently controls the metering and mixing of aggregate, mineral powder and asphalt, can be remotely operated, monitor the equipment operation status in real time, and improve production efficiency.
How Does a Hot Mix Asphalt Plant Work?
Cold aggregate transportation and drying
Cold aggregate is stored in cold material bins according to different particle sizes. Each bin is equipped with a variable frequency speed control conveyor belt to accurately control the aggregate supply. Aggregates enter the drying drum through a belt conveyor, and come into contact with high-temperature hot air in the drum to be heated and dried.
Hot aggregate screening and metering
The batch mix asphalt plant heated aggregate is transported to the vibrating screen through an elevator for graded screening. Aggregates of different particle sizes are distributed to multiple hot material bins. The screened aggregates are temporarily stored in the hot material bins and wait for subsequent proportioning. The electronic metering system automatically controls the feeding ratio of each level of aggregate to ensure accurate proportioning.
Asphalt mixture mixing and unloading
The weighed aggregates, asphalt and fillers enter the mixing tank and are forced to mix by the mixing blades. The mixed asphalt mixture enters the finished product bin for temporary storage, and is discharged from the finished product bin through the unloading door and evenly laid on the roadbed.
